A note about provider.
The two folding cameras shown in depth in this article were both either obtained or provided by the Camera Center located in Easttown, Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Camera Center is a camera and photographic supplies shop that deal mostly in used equipment especially the older vintage stuff I've been able to get my hands on recently. They seem to be the biggest shop in west michigan to have most of that stuff if not the only.
I also happen to be recently employed by them to redesign their website and to get their business more attention on the web. For this reason I have access to a wide variety of old film cameras and collectibles and they may be provided to me for future articles. Also for this reason if there is a request on a particular type of camera or model that you wish to learn more about, I may be able to obtain one for editorial purposes. Most of the 'shop' prices I mentioned earlier in this article are loosely based off the retail selling price at the Camera Center, other shops may vary but not by much.
The two cameras I mentioned in this article are personally owned by me, but future cameras may be loaned to me on behalf of the Camera Center, they have been quite generous in my access to their collection thus far. On the upcoming web design there will be a weekly feature of cameras from their collection, they will in no way be as in-depth as the write ups I do here on The Bokeh, but it will give you something to look at weeks after weeks. Conclusion
Well there you have it, another genre of medium format cameras that you may obtain on a budget. Folding cameras are among some of the simplest designs; as such they were one of the more abundant types of cameras. Reflecting back on the article if you do shop online be prepared to spend some extra money getting the camera possibly serviced if you plan to use them. Also mentioned before having the cameras serviced the price isn't that much more and even with the price of servicing it is still a bargain. Happy Folding!
